Ted Lasso Darts, Divorce Papers, and Anne’s Birthday

Happy Birthday Anne! I hear a rumor you were out in LA with a birthday sash on.

Thank you for listening to the Torg Stories Podcast. Even if you haven’t seen Ted Lasso, I think there’s a lot here for you. On this episode we’re using Season 1 Episodes 7 and 8 as our catalyst for discussion.

Officially, episode seven was titled “Make Rebecca Great Again” and eight was “The Diamond Dogs.”

Anne, what did you have as the big ticket items to discuss from these episodes?

1. It would have been Rebecca’s wedding anniversary and Ted’s got divorce papers to sign. Those are tough days. Have you had days that brought with them that kind of baggage?
2. In the second episode, things come to a head for Rebecca. Higgins tells her to F off and Keely comes walking in having found out it was Rebecca that had those pictures taken.

Guess the golden line game. Golden Lines and Favorite Scenes are running together for me, but Golden lines without typing them out word for word:

1. Be curious, not judgmental. -Ted in his story to Rupert
2. I can’t control my feelings. Then by all means, you should let them control you. Ted to Roy about Jamie
3. I don’t want you to give me knowing glances. -Ted to Beard about Sassy
4. Does my face look like it’s in the mood for shape based jokes? Roy to Lasso
5. If you are nuts for butts, have at it. -Ted about 1 night stands

My all time favorite scenes in Ted Lasso through episodes 7 and 8 of season 1: TWO NEW ONES!

1. Ted playing darts vs. Rupert. Be curious, not judgmental.
2. We’re broken halftime speech. Ted says everyone should listen up and then smacks the Believe sign. I just bought another copy of the poster.
3. “Caesar you later” from Higgins and Ted comes back through the door.
4. Nate roast of the team and Roy rips out the bench and says, let’s go get these F’ers.
5. Reading of the Crimm article that describes what Lasso is doing to montage of his actions.
