I’d estimate that my mom Sue Torgerson reads a book about every other day. Her last two reads were The Revisioners by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton and A Thousand Country Roads by Robert James Waller. I pick out her books from the App State Library once a week without reading them. I walk the fiction aisles reading titles. If a title catches my attention I read the opening paragraph and then I read something in the middle. I decide if it’s a book for mom based on that.

THERE’S ALSO A NEW DEVELOPMENT: after about six months of watching exclusively sports and HGTV, mom decided she is ready for a movie. She told me to put on something she might like. I opened Netflix and put on Erin Brockovich. We’ll see how that goes.
I told mom she ought to post on Facebook what she reads or watches and what she thinks about it. I told her if she posted her opinion on Facebook I bet people would read it and say something back to her. We’ll see if she finishes Brockovich and if she’s willing to tell us what she thought about it.
