NFL First Weekend Reflection

Welcome to NFL Week 1 Podcast. No heavy analysis here. My wife Megan asked this aftiternoon, “Who is supposed to be good this year?” If that’s the kind of questions you have or you’re just wanting to know what happened big today, tis might be the spot for you.

Notes from the Colts game:

• Texans mess up end of 1st half.
• Blocked punt. Taylor TD. My Taylor bet!
• 4th go for it TD Houston.
• Colts go for it on 4th down and score TD with 2:14 to go. Were you okay with all that as it unfolded?
• The Nico Collins dagger catch on 3rd and long.
• Colts 11 years in a row losing opening game.
• Colts coach Shane Steichen 39 year old from California. The offensive coordinator for the Eagles previously. Went 9-8 last year.
• Tyrese Haliburton goes to games.

Big picture, what interests you with NFL?

1. The Colts because of you, mom, and dad.
2. Rogers and the Jets
3. Harbaugh and the Chargers. Sign stealer.
4. Taylor Swift, Andy Reid, the Kelces and the Chiefs.
5. How are Brady and Belichick as media?
6. Dolphins Mike McDaniel + potential mess of Hill’s life.
7. The continued losing with the Panthers.

Scores from teams that are a little more personal to me:

• App State loses at Clemson 66-20. 5 touchdown passes for the Clemson quarterback. This after Clemson lost 34-3 to Georgia.
• Panthers (Panthers not handling blitzes, can’t seem to defend the pass) Dave Canales coach. Offensive coordinator for Tampa Bay last year. 6 coaches in 5 years. 47-10
• Christopher Newport beat Trine of Indiana 42-6. CNU is where my daughter goes to college. I have yet to see my first football game there. Anne, back when we were growing up, Trine was Tri-State in Angola.
• Your Hoosiers are 2-0 with a 31-7 win over FIU and 77-3 over Western Illinois. Anne, do you know who FIU is? (Florida International University)
