Welcome to our Focus on the Indiana Fever Podcast. The Fever have won eight of their last ten. We begin talking about the play of Kelsey Mitchell, the chemistry between Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, and the hot shooting of Lexie Hull.
Focus on the Fever Storylines
Kelsey Mitchell:
- Since coming back from the break, Mitchell is averaging 25.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 43.4 percent from the three point line.
- She looks like the fastest guard in the WNBA with the ball.
- 7 straight games 20+ leading into wings game. That’s a Fever record. Went over 30 today against the Wings.
- Contract year for Mitchell. Possibly a free agent.
- I see the one-handed lay up more and more. (trying to work it all as a coach)
Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston Connection
- I see a lot of improvement with Caitlin being able to connect with Boston on the short roll. Used to be trapped a lot. Boston’s decision making on her catch. Off ball cutting, finding shooters
- Coaching plays a big part in above. Big props to the Fever coaching staff.
Lexie Hull
- Since the all star break Hull has has averaged 11.3 points and 3.3 rebounds playing 26.5 minutes while shooting a crazy 70.8 percent from deep.
- Hull plays as hard as anyone. She defends really hard. Because she is shooting now, they can put her out there. Great chemistry with Clark.
- Allegedly big Monopoly Cards player with Caitlin. I really like that game.
